The Mediterranean Corridor links important metropolitan areas in Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, France and Spain as well as important socio-economic Mega-regions particularly in Italy, France-Spain and Austria-Hungary.
Furthermore, some of these metropolitan areas are important commuting and multimodal hubs, where the coexistence of huge (existing or potential) flows of passengers and freight trains reveal significant challenges to be overcomed.
Sites and circumstances are different but, in all cases, common issues to be solved appear.
The key question is how to enhance and make compatible freight and passengers trains traffic in major Urban Regions. How to identify appropriate solutions to this challenging subject, as well as, to share common experiences and success stories are the main topics of this Conference.
The event will be an exceptional meeting point for regional planners, infrastructure managers, railway undertakings and key stakeholders, interested in looking for innovative solutions in this stimulating framework.
